Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us for the purpose of responding. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Time spent on the pages viewed
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and common exit points. You may block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so can change how parts of the site function.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Manatee County guidance points readers to the Sheriff's Office, the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Florida Sexual Offender and Predator Search. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted through those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable provider policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Florida agencies, legal-aid resources, or third-party tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure performance and traffic
- Search providers that process a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for information in our possession. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live and whether a statutory exemption applies, the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, Florida Statutes sections 501.701 through 501.722, may provide rights concerning personal data. Florida criminal-history dissemination is separately governed by section 943.053, while government record access follows the Florida Public Records Law. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. Any revision will appear here with a new effective date, so review this page periodically for changes.
